FAQ: BODY |
Q. What is a Body Wrap treatment? |
| |
Our body wrap treatments combat the effects of aging, helping to maintain a healthy and youthful appearance. Our treatment begins with a full body exfoliation to remove dead
skin cells. We then proceed to a complete Body Mask. Your entire body will be covered with one of our warm algae or mud treatments to allow time for the precious active ingredients to be absorbed. Once the mask is removed, we finally
apply a light moisturiser all over the skin. This aromatic treatment hydrates and de-stresses your entire body. |

FAQ: FACE |
Q. What is the first part of the face to age? |
| |
The first part of the face to droop is usually the eyelids and eyebrows. |
| |
Q. How can I correct drooping eyebrows? |
| |
Botox will correct a minor droop of up to 5mm. Direct suturing under the eyebrow down to the deeper layers can correct up to 10mm but may increase wrinkling above the eyebrows. If there is too much loose skin the skin will need to be excised. |
| |
Q. What causes acne? |
| |
The main cause of acne are the hormones that we produce from puberty. They stimulate the sebaceous glands in our skin causing increased production of oil and changing the cells in the duct leading out to the skin. The cells in the duct stick together forming a plug that blocks the duct, the gland then blows up like a balloon. The pimples created are infected. Antibiotics help; squeezing can cause scarring. |
| |
Q. What is the best therapy for acne? |
| |
Microdermabrasion, peeling and laser can remove the plugs but prime therapy consists of applying keratolytic creams and lotions that will penetrate the duct and loosen the plugs. Antibiotics are used only to settle the inflammation caused by infection. |
| |
Q. Can acne scarring be treated? |
| |
Acne can leave scars and pigmentation. Pigmentation responds well to peeling. Scarring responds well to microdermabrasion but does best with laser resurfacing. Two treatments, three months apart are usually required. |

FAQ: VPL |
Q. What is VPL? |
